Developer With Java Experience Full-time

OTS is seeking a free software developer experienced in Java for full-time contract work.

The primary project involves extending and improving a free code base written in Java. It requires someone comfortable writing web applications in Java, including working with test frameworks and managing dependencies. There will be other work beyond this primary project, so we're looking for someone who's willing to learn new skills and programming languages on the fly; we train as needed, and believe that learning on the job is normal.

The amount of work is approximately 40 hours per week over a period of 6 months, with rate to be negotiated based on experience. There is an option to renew the contract after the 6 months have been completed; this depends in part on the client's continuation of the project.

OTS is based in Chicago and New York, and preference will be given to candidates in those cities, but we are open to remote applicants too.
