At sysmocom we create mobile communications systems using C, C++, Erlang and Smalltalk programming languages combined with custom hardware. We are leading the development of OpenBSC and related projects inside the Osmocom community and contribute to many Free / Open Source Software projects.
We are constantly looking for candidates interested in getting deeply involved with GSM from the Mobile Station to the Core Network and wanting to work from our Berlin (Germany) office. We are looking for staff in the area of software development, software system integration and software testing.
Mandatory skills for applicants include
deep experience on GNU/Linux and the Free / Open Source software ecosystem
ability to use the git revision control system
familiarity with software development on and for GNU/Linux
understanding how Free / Open Source development models work
advanced proficiency in written and oral English
It is beneficial if you optionally have experience in any or some of the following technologies
Embedded C development ('bare iron') on ARM family processors using GNU GCC, gdb, OpenOCD
System-level development on Linux/Unix/POSIX systems
Protocol-level knowledge on any of the GSM/GPRS/UMTS interfaces
High-level understanding of embedded electronics
OpenEmbedded / Poky
GNU autotools (automake, autoconf, autoheader)
Package building for Linux distributions (dpkg, rpm, SuSE Open Build Service)
Prior experience or involvement in any of the Osmocom projects
General interest in (digital) radio communications
