Developer Community Advocate - Open Source, Dev Tools (Part-time)
BoxyHQ helps startups enable enterprise features in any SaaS app with just a few lines of code. We are a commercial open-source company and we need your superpowers to expose our brand and our content to the community.
This is a part-time contractor position (approximately 20 hours/week).
What you'll be doing:
TLDR — promoting our content & brand organically in public situations.
This job goes beyond developer relations (DevRel)— we need the same, but also to collaborate with the Marketing team in the field of email marketing, lifecycle email & customer data.
Specifically, this includes:
Monitoring relevant developer communities and social media (e.g. for certain keywords)
Engaging in meaningful conversations and drive relevant discussion forums (you will need technical skills)
Helping people solve their problems
Internally influence BoxyHQ product strategy by working with cross-functional teams
Building relationships with industry practitioners and customers
Apply your developer-first mentality to our fast-paced, startup environment to prioritize and create the most engaged open-source community; promoting our content (in the most organic and helpful way)
Key skills:
Proven track record of creating and building engagement amongst open-source developer communities
Experience in SaaS marketing and/or customer data
Passionate about talking to developers and helping them
Self-driven & developer-first mentality
Native-level fluency in English
We're happy to bring you up to speed with the product knowledge. E.g. in the beginning, we'll likely answer some questions / and discuss situations together.
The ideal candidate is a former developer with DevRel or Marketing expertise who has moved on to personal projects but needs part-time income to supplement that. Or someone with the right experience to focus on this background We can help you get that, plus a fun team, plus you'll be building personal authority while creating BoxyHQ brand awareness.
Schedule:
This is a part-time contractor position (approximately 20 hours/week). The schedule is totally up to you. We’d prefer if you could check in daily for a couple of hours.
Timezone
The team is 100% remote. Those who will be working with you most closely are in the European & Indian timezone. But you could be based anywhere in the world.
