Product Engineer Full-time

Urban Management Centre is a non-profit organization with a mission to Make Cities Work for Everyone. Since 1997, we have strengthened local governance through technical support, policy formulation and implementation, and dedicated capacity building. We work closely with the Government of India, as well as State Governments across India on urban issues.
Among our major areas of support is product development and project management for e-governance. Our LMIS product is currently being used by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for the Nation Urban Livelihoods Mission. We are also currently building a product to ensure sanitation workers’ safety and access to entitlements in partnership with the Government of Odisha.
We are looking for a Product Engineer to lead the development and deployment of various in-house and Open-Source software applications. The candidate will work closely with the functional teams to design software suitable for the challenges of urban India. The position is based in Ahmedabad.
Position: Full time
Responsibilities:
Full-Stack engineering for web and mobile applications
Project management with fulltime and contract team members
Buy/Build decision making for new products
Deploying/Integrating self-hosted applications and external APIs for organisation
Deploying products/solutions for government partners
Developing and implementing quality assurance procedures
Conduct reviews, and give feedback to team members.
Qualifications and skills:
Requirements:
Languages and Frameworks: PhP/Laravel, OR MEAN/MERN stack
3-4 years of experience as a web developer.
Desired:
Working knowledge of: Google cloud, Jira, Jenkin
