Linux kernel maintainer

Location: UK or US based 

Linaro is seeking an experienced Linux kernel engineer. This role is focused on maintaining Linux kernel trees for consumption by both the community and commercial entities.  You will work directly with Linux kernel maintainers and the Linux community at large. You will need to adhere to the current agreed to processes to review, backport, test and accept patches from the Linux kernel, AOSP communities and commercial entities.  In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and stability of the trees you maintain as well as making public releases of them as needed.

Required Skills

• Excellent Linux kernel development experience
• Strong working knowledge of the Linux kernel
• Expert in C, and shell programming
• Experience submitting code to upstream Linux kernel and other open source projects
• Working knowledge of Android and other embedded systems
• Expert user of  git
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with the inner workings of the Linux kernel community is highly desired
• Well established working relationship with the upstream kernel community
• Experience with the Arm architecture
• Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team through
     self-discipline and self-motivation, delivering according to a schedule
